Located in a peaceful town in the Hainaut, Belgium, this habitation was an old house right next to the town square and its church. Architecture wise, the typical front facade was kept but a new extension opening to the garden and bringing in light was added.

The main desire of the clients was to have every living spaces on the ground floor to make the space practical for their old days. Therefore, the first floor was intended for their children and grandchildren. Planned carefully and with simplicity, the layout of the ground floor feels like a loft opening on a beautiful garden.

A contrast of light and dark materials for the interiors was completed with furniture from designers such as Christian Liaigre, Bruno Moinard, Christophe Delcourt and Piet Boon. Different desaturated tones and dark woods complement the calm and understated atmosphere.
